Casa Maíz is pleased to celebrate International Women’s Day with its now traditional “Arte en Forma de Mujer” (Art in the Shape of a Woman).
Four years after its first edition, this event continues to offer a space for women in Toronto’s Latin American community to share their talent and delight us with their way of living the arts. The program for this evening will include the participation of visual artists, singers, poets, dancers and actresses who constantly express their love and dedication to Latin American cultures through their work. We invite the community to join us on Saturday, March 5 at 7pm at Casa Maíz. This is a free event.
Casa Maíz is a cultural space with the mission to support the cultural, sustainable and participatory development of the Latin American community in Toronto and Canadá. This work is carried out through the arts, research and culture in its broader definition and through the promotion of creativity, thought and innovation of groups and individuals. We hope to provide a space that facilitates intergenerational and intercultural encounters and dialogues that foster equity while establishing connections of understanding and cooperation between people and institutions. While Casa Maíz aims to facilitate cultural exchange with Latin America, our main commitment is to promote cultural encounters within the Latin American community in Toronto, thus strengthening our roots and identities while we contribute to Canada’s multicultural society.
